Whitt started hammock camping in 2008, and loved it so much, he took to sleeping in one inside instead of a traditional bed every night. First via a hammock frame, and now via proper weight bearing screw eyes screwed into two adjoining studs in the wall. He says it's the best sleep he has ever had, and likes how easy it is to pack it out of the way and have the whole room to utilize for other things if needed.
He had to Stop hammock camping outdoors for 9 years to tend to his late wife's health issues. Something he does not regret in the least, as she was his everything, and, literally saved his life!. But he has since been trying to get back into it, having acquired a total of 8 hammocks and assorted gear. And even though he was charged by a full grown black bear one of his first times back out camping, he says he has, after some time spent getting over that scary incident, decided he shouldn't let it stop him.
