Teresa's Bio:
I grew up in Florida, the youngest of four children from loving, caring and supportive parents. We were an active family, involved in sports and often taking family camping trips. I graduated from University of Florida with a Bachelors Degree in Zoology, but have never worked in the field. Once I learned of the Appalachian Trail, the thought of hiking the whole thing would not go away. Despite having only two failed backpacking trips for experience, I put my backpack on and stepped onto the Approach Trail. For the next 6+ months, life was simple: Walk, eat, sleep, repeat. I returned to Florida, and became a "responsible" person again by getting a job. I found myself in the business side of healthcare and still work in the field as a Patient Account Manager for a large hospital system. Four years ago, I moved to Western North Carolina with my 2 cats, Wayne and Garth. This is where I truly belong. These are my people. I spend a lot of my non-working time hiking the trails in these Blue Ridge Mountains, including the Appalachian Trail. My soul is happy.
