This is a joy to listen to while I’ve been stuck working indoors, after most of my hiking plans were thrown off this summer.. makes me feel like I’m out where I want to be 😊👌

Future Thru Hiker

Well, section hiking has some advantages! On top of that list: I can start now! (Not wait until I am between jobs or retire). Julie has done a great job keeping me entertained and I always learn something. My “someday” can start today! ... well, as soon as the trails open back up- I am sure that Jester will keep me updated. It’s a great show for hikers!

Thought I wanted to be a thru hiker!

I was planning a thru hike for the summer but I don’t want to be away from my family that long. This podcast has made me realize I can achieve my goals and still be there for my kids. Thank you for making my dreams come true.

I’ve only section hiked on the Appalachian Trail but because of this podcast I want to head West to the PCT and start fulfilling my dream of section hiking the PCT. Thank you for starting a platform for Section Hikers.

Can’t stop listening

TimJeff says worth listening !

Jester is a prolific section hiker and all around outdoors lover. I have section hiked with Jester and enjoyed every trip. She knows her trails and maps and gear well. She always has a laugh and a deep respect for trail life. She supports the hiking community and other hikers young and old. You can bet her guests and friends will give you valuable input with every podcast. If you want hike - through hike or section hike- you will enjoy and relate to these podcasts.

Not just for section hikers

I love this new podcast. Julie has a great interviewing style that makes me feel like I am right there in the conversation. She picks interesting guests and shares helpful tips to use on trail whether you are new to hiking or a seasoned long distance hiker. Thanks for sharing great content. I can’t wait to see where the show goes over time!

Loving this!

I’m not a regular hiker, but I’m really enjoying this podcast. It’s informative and educational, but the passion of the hiking community is what really stands out. The love Jester and her guests have for the trail is inspiring. It makes me want to get out there more often! Keep ‘em coming, Jester!

Amazing AT Tales and Interviews

I’ve found myself unintentionally captivated by the engaging stories told by the author (“Jester”) and her interviews with a varied who’s who of the Appalachian Trail. The laid back stories of these hikers are fun to listen to and give a glimpse into what unique adventures you can find on the trail.

So motivating!

This podcast makes me want to stay in the woods and never go back to work. Such great interviews! I feel like I am there with the guests on the trail and love the theme song.

Love this!

Jester does a great job of interacting with her guests and working with them to weave and travel through their stories of section hiking the trails. Her love for the trail and trail community shines through! Also love her segment with Steve K., talking gear. Even though I’ve been section hiking for 5+ years, I’m still learning a lot through that segment. Lastly, there’s always a ton of time and space given for thru hikers to tell their stories so it’s absolutely awesome to have a space dedicated to us section hikers! Thanks Jester for an awesome podcast!

Love the Stories, Information and Oh That Laugh!

I really like the format of Jester Section Hiker...Julie talking one to one with hikers sharing their experiences and feelings about section hiking. The stories and people are fascinating and the equipment discussion section is timely and helpful! Great Job Julie!

Love love love it all!

The way Jester repeats important points cements them in the listener’s mind. And then there’s that really wonderful laugh! Jester gives a dynamite interview while entertaining even her guests. Love her podcasts!!!

Like the show

Like the show and enjoy the content, but hate the audio. Jester sounds like she is recording the show in her bathroom. Very hollow sounding with an echo. Invest in some new recording equipment.

Hooray! A podcast about section hiking! I enjoy Jester Julie’s interview style. I’ve embarrassed myself (many times) while on my gym elliptical, truly laughing out loud at the comments by both Julie and her guests. It’s like we are hanging out at a camp fire, telling stories. LOVE IT!
