Steve, it was by luck that I came across your podcast and I am so grateful! I find that not only are you a good story teller but the stories and full of great information and often times funny. I don't look forward getting to the end making me wait weekly to hear a new episode. I enjoy listening every day. I do have one question. I often hear people say " when I got my hiker legs" what the are they? Did I miss the definition in an earlier episode? Thanks again for doing what you do :) Megan

Extraordinary!!

Brings Back Good Memories
I feel like I'm hiking the trail again when I listen to this podcast. I enjoy how honest Mighty Blue is about his life both on and off of the trail. Keep them coming. I will keep listening. Trail Name: Coal Furnance

Completely hooked
I'm completely hooked on this podcast and haven't stopped listening to it since I found it. Not looking forward to getting to the end and having to wait until the next one is released. I have been infatuated with everything related to hiking the AT for a while and Steve does a great job discussing his first hand knowledge of the trail and keeps it interesting by having great guests and reading from his book. Bloody great job!

My Favorite Podcast
I discovered this podcast after reading Steve's first book. What a treat! I listen while I train for our AT section hikes. Steve is a natural and does something rarely heard from interviewers with much more experience. He let's his guests speak! Very entertaining!

Nickname for Jessa
I am one of the three cousins of Jessa Hackman. That whole story was true, about crop dusting. But here's a real nickname.... Rusty. For her hair color.

Superb
Keep up the excellent work Mighty Blue. I just can't get enough of the AT after spending 800 miles on the trail in 2016. Makes me long to be back out there more and more with every new episode. Thank you so much.

Honest, informative, and very entertaining!
I stumbled onto this podcast with a random search for "Appalachian" and was delighted to see this new series. I downloaded and listened to the first episode and was hooked, immediately downloaded all the other episodes and have been working through them. Great information and entertaining guests, with a truly inspiring amount of honesty about the personal changes brought on by an AT thru hike. And as a bonus, every episode closes with another chapter from Steve's book - overall, hugely entertaining.

Excellent Trail Tales
I stumbled across this podcast while preparing for an upcoming section hike on the AT. I was immediately drawn in. Steve ("Mighty Blue") has an inviting, none judgmental attitude to backpacking that makes for great listening. The variety of guests he has provides for a wide range of perspectives and insights about what it is like to hike on the Appalachian Trail. I’d recommend this to anyone planning their own hike or just interested in backpacking in general.

Our New Favorite Podcast
Steve, Pam and I have have listened to all of your podcasts so far and eagerly await Thursdays to get your next one. As we are busily planning for our walk this year, the information you and guests provide is invaluable. I love the format and how it's evolving. Keep up the great work! P.S. I especially enjoy your reading excerpts from your book.

Love it!
This is such an entertaining podcast. I look forward to each new download. Keep them coming!

Enjoy!!!
Such a wonderful podcast!

Not a hiker - still LOVE it!
This is an interesting and entertaining podcast even if you do not currently hike or ever have the intention of hiking. (I do work outside with horses 365 days a year, but don't technically "hike") Steve's adventures and struggles are real. He is very honest about his life before and after the AT. Thank you for sharing this life changing event with a very candid look into your revelations about your past, present and future. Thanks to Glenn the Geek and the Horse Radio Network for introducing me to Mighty Blue.

KeithVG class of 2017
First heard of Mighty Blue through a Facebook page related to the AT. I was hooked from the first episode. Steve is a very gifted storyteller. Whenever I get nervous about the upcoming adventure, I just play another episode of the podcast. I soon get excited rather than nervous and can't wait for the hike to begin!

FANFREAKINGTASTIC!!!!!
I discovered your podcast on January 13 and as of today (the 18th) Just finished episode 14 where you interviewed Dixie. I was a litle waery at first as hiking and podcasting seems to be a really niche thing that could go bad quickly. I was engaged immediately. Your style is great! I love the interviews and your following audobook chapters make for a great listen! Please keep up the great work as we all lookforward to many more episodes. One quick suggestion, As many hikers are, I'm kindof a gear junkie. I would love to hear some gear reviews from both you and your guests. Keep up the great work!

Bloody good!
Steve - or I should say, Mighty Blue - is filling a need. The ebst podcast for covering things AT and long distance hiking. I know its hard to carry on week to week, so I hope you perserver at least until I leave on my 2018 thru-hike next February. Again, well done and bloody good.

Excellent podcast not just on doing a through hike but life as well
Hi Mighty Blue- I have listened to all of the episodes and look forward to hearing all future podcasts. I found you by chance while looking for something to listen to on my daily 5 mile morning walks and so glad I did. Doing a through hike is on the bucket list and not sure if I will ever get to do it as I know I will be working for another few years (sixty currently) but you are helping make me realize that it is possible. I am going to send you an email as I would love to pick your brain further. Btw I picked my trail name if I do it - OldCaddie. My love of walking came as a result of my first job lugging golf clubs. I understand you know something about that.

Dreaming of the trail
Lately I've been stuck in one traffic jam after another and I've thoroughly enjoyed getting lost in the podcast to distract me. I'm dreaming of section hiking this summer and the stories Mighty Blue shares with fellow hikers on this podcast make me want to drop everything and HIKE! Keep them coming!

Great format
Steve uses an interesting format to recount his 2200 mile adventure, while also keeping the podcast entertaining. He interviews both past and current through hikers, giving the listener many different perspectives on the AT Trail. Clear and distinct delivery (nice radio voice) coupled with refreshing frankness add to the 5 star rating.

Inspiring and fun!
I stumbled across Mighty Blue's podcast about his 2014 through hike a few days ago and can't stop listening! He's a great storyteller and writer with loads of interesting guests. I love the variety of personalities that he has on for his guests and the audiobook excerpts at the end keep me coming back for more! Thanks so much Mighty Blue, from a hopeful 51 year old class of 2018 hopeful.

Candid, enlightening, entertaining.
I've been listening since episode #1 and it's only getting better! Steve manages to deliver these wonderfully crafted discussions and book chapters with an incredibly candid and self-effacing style that make it easy to listen to and even supremely relatable. If you're looking for an AT pidcast filled with detailed equipment facts and reviews, you'll have to look elswhere. But if you're looking to partake in the human experience on the AT, and other long trails, Steve and his guests will deliver in spades!

Steve Adams has a Natural Gift!
Enjoyed listening to today's podcast, Episode 10 - Gary Sizer (Green Giant). Come to think about it, I've equally enjoyed the previous episodes as well. You're a natural at this outdoor niche, offering excellent knowledge, with top quality, as a way of reaching out to others who share the same interest. I suspect that those who may pursue the same interest will find your offerings to be one of the best starting points. I'll pray that this will continue to grow in a rewarding direction.

Learning a lot!
I just listen to the Max Mishkin episode. I learned a lot about his ultralight approach to backpacking. I enjoyed his insights as well as yours concerning hiking the Appalachian Trail. Well done!

Well done!
I really enjoyed listening to the first 10 episodes and look forward to many many more.

Loving it!
Just wanted to let you know I'm loving your podcast. Very informative and inspirational. And you're a funny guy :) Thanks!

enjoying learning about the trail
I am loving hearing about your adventure and meeting your trail friends . I especailly like learning about the trail and the process of hiking that far. Great podcast! I learned about it from the Horse Radio Network. You have a marvelous reading voice too. I am hooked!

Outstanding Podcast!!
This is an excellent podcast that will appeal to anyone that enjoys hiking, camping, being outdoors, or just appreciates a well told story. In this podcast listeners will enjoy a story about one man's journey on the AT and the people he met, the interviews provide great insight on hiking the trail and the chapter readings from his book are very entertaining and informative.

So good
Entertaining, informative + inspiring

Mighty well done
I really appreciate how Mighty Blue is handling this podcast. He's very smart to intersperse his own clever, genuine and well-written AT adventures with interviews of other hikers. The effect is equal doses of English charm and dry wit and a wide sampling of AT experiences, making for a fun listen in each of the five episodes released so far. If you are an AT hiker and missing the trail, someone who has pondered making this mighty, crazy trek, or just someone who appreciates good storytelling and fun, "Mighty Blue on the Appalachian Trail" is well worth your time (as is MB's book). Wonderful theme music!
As someone who has an interest in hiking the AT after I retire in 15 years, it's great to hear about the AT from someone who is not a person in their 20's. Keep up the great work.
